Last night about 75 families with kids at Atlantic Beach Elementary (ABE) gathered outside the school, spread the blankets or beach towels on the ground (or maybe a comfy beach chair, just sayin’) and waited till the sun went down and the stars came out. The family-friendly movie Rio was shown on the giant screen that was loaned to ABE by Sunrise Community Church. There was complimentary popcorn and lemonade and the locally owned, shave ice fav at the beach, Ohana, was on hand selling ices for a small cost.
The weather was totally perfect for an outdoor movie night. Nightfall brought a bit of chill, and everyone had fun. If you didn’t want to watch the movie but still take your kids to the event, well, there’s always YouTube on your iPhone, under the stars. Everyone wins.
