No Netflix? Here’s Why

Have you tried streaming anything from Netflix tonight? Or even tried to simply check your email? If you live in Ponte Vedra Beach, and are a customer of Comcast, don’t expect to be able to do either of those things into this work week.

Comcast, which brands its communications services as XFinity, announced that they were suffering from major outages throughout Duval and St. Johns County. The outages, which seemed to be affecting internet, digital television, and voice services, had no resolution time.

A phone call to the company’s press line gave us an pre-recorded message.

“Customers in Ponte Vedra Beach are experiencing outages, and we currently don’t know when they’ll be fixed,” the message said.

The outage is affecting anything from streaming movies across Netflix, online gaming, and even watching a movie ‘On Demand’ from your couch. Users were even unable to access email, Facebook, or even dial out on their home phones.

So if you’re bored on this Sunday night, or even before work tomorrow — crack open a book, spend time with your family, or go take a walk on the beach — because if you have Comcast, like many of us do, your service has been rendered useless.
