Fletcher High School Holds Annual Welcome Breakfast for Prospective Students This Friday

On Friday morning, January 27 at 8:00 am students starting 9th grade this fall and their parents are invited to attend the Welcome Breakfast.  This event is organized by Fletcher’s Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) and is all about making prospective students feel comfortable about starting high school and showing them why Fletcher is, indeed, the Pride of the Beaches.

The students will hear all about the curriculum, classes, freshman procedures, and how everyone can become part of the “Fletcher family”.

School administrators will address the group who’ll gather in the school’s Media Center. First check in at the main office, then go to the Media Center (they’ll direct you!).  Parents will have the chance to meet other parents – PTSA members will be available to answer questions – and student representatives will escort smaller groups of prospective students/parents throughout the school.  They’ll have the chance to see Fletcher on a normal school day and begin to learn their way around the campus.

Any curious or prospective students (and parents/guardians) should come to the Media Center at 8:00am for a continental breakfast and for brief remarks by school administrators and PTSA members.  School tours will begin at 9:00am.  Students from all area Duval County middle schools’ late arrivals will be excused.

Students from private schools are also encouraged to attend.  Everyone is welcome!  Come, hear about all that Fletcher High has to offer, and have a good look around.  This is a great first step  for those students (and parents!) who may be feeling apprehensive about making the transition to high school.

If you can’t attend Friday’s Welcome Breakfast, Fletcher will be hosting a similar event in the evening this spring.
