‘Tour-de-Farm’ This Sunday!

Are you a fan of the Beaches Green Market and/or the Atlantic Beach Mid-Week Market?  Do you enjoy eating foods grown locally; fresh, organic food?  Do you enjoy gardening yourself, or even just looking at the beauty of growing food?

This Sunday is the day when more than 20 farms from three counties welcome visitors!  Arranged by Slow Food First Coast and sponsored by a slew of Jacksonville area organizations and restaurants (check them out on the website), this is the second annual farm tour and is expected to be well attended.  Rain or shine, these farms and growers will be waiting for you and your family, so come on out and see just where the food you love to eat is grown!

So many of us are enjoying our weekly veggie delivery, trips to the green markets, gardening at home or in community gardens.  These farm tours are a natural progression of our dedication to eating fresh and locally grown food.

We’ll be touring some of the farms, camera in hand.

Go here, check out the map of the participating farms, and make your Sunday plan!  It’s going to be fun, colorful, and a great way to spend a leisurely Sunday afternoon.
