Farm-to-Table Dinner: Beaches Style?

Two years ago and again last year, our neighbors to the west, in San Marco, hosted a beautiful Farm-to-Table dinner in one of their lovely parks.

Featuring locally sourced foods prepared by their area’s most innovative and adventurous chefs, I covered this dinner. I wandered among the guests and shot photos, listened to the trio playing live music while woodsmoke from the scented pinion fire wafted through the trees and softened the setting sun. As the guests enjoyed some wine before dinner they listened to their chefs as they briefly told the story of the dinner.

I made this short video, and viewing it again has got me thinking about our same commitment to the local – via the Beaches Green Market and the Atlantic Beach Mid-Week Market – and I’m musing about the opportunity we have to host our own such outdoor meal.

Much planning goes into events like these…but I believe there are  slow food enthusiasts among us who, along with others who’d support the idea of an elegant, outdoor meal and work to make it happen.

Interested in tossing the idea about?  Contact us, because we’re in!
